*SEPTEMBER 16, 2014: TERRY SOARES, Landscape Design and Newer Trends
Terry says she can barely remember a time when she wasn’t gardening. That love led her to the Landscape Design program at George Washington University. She and her husband have owned a landscape design/build/maintenance firm in Falmouth, M.R. Soares Co., since 1982. She became a Master Gardener in the same year. in 1996, after many years of custom growing specialty plants for their clients, they opened Soares Flower Garden Nursery in East Falmouth. She will talk to us about the basics of landscape design and then tell us about newer trends and how these can inspire your garden.
OCTOBER 21, 2014: MATT PELIKAN, More Than You Gardened For: Valuable Visitors Where You Don’t Expect Them
Matt is works as a restoration ecologist for the Nature Conservancy and a lifelong naturalist and writes the column Wild Side” for the MV Times. His presentation will deal with these winged visitors to our gardens, as well some less desirable ones, and describe some strategies for attracting some of the more helpful ones.
