The MV Garden Club's biggest fundraiser of the year, Blooming Art was a great success thanks to everyone inside and outside the Garden Club who generously contributed in some way.
The Club's work on Blooming Art begins in January, with the Blooming Art 'Committee' meeting monthly to begin the planning with more frequent meetings as the date draws near. Sub-Committees are created and together, we make Blooming Art happen. Below is a listing of all those MV Garden Club members who gave of their time to bring this event to fruition! We hope you know how much your dedication and participation was and is appreciated by the MVGC Board and by the Blooming Art Committee! For all of our members who contributed...Its time to take a bow! We thank you so much! |

Here are pics of a handful of our talented floral designers!
Photos were taken when they delivered their arrangements to the Old Mill on the day before Blooming Art...
It was busy so we didn't get photos of everyone, but what we were able to capture is below!

We had many 'veteran' floral designers involved this year and we also had a dozen 'newbie's' who had never participated in Blooming Art before... and many of them are brand new MVGC members! We so appreciate our floral design support people, Wiet, Fawn and Nancy. And the fact that our new members wanted to arrange for Blooming Art feels good! All of our floral designers really did an awesome job!
Thank you ladies for making our show COLORFUL AND CREATIVE! We love you! |
A Little Background: 'Blooming Art' is modeled after the Boston Museum of Fine Arts 'Art in Bloom' show, which is an annual celebration of floral arrangements inspired by the Museum’s many masterpieces. Beginning in the early days of the MVGC Blooming Art event, the Old Mill was transformed into a gallery filled with the art of Vineyard artists displayed along with interpretive floral arrangements
created by Garden Club members...and it all began in 2001!
Back 'in the day' Blooming Art was called 'Beauty and The Best', and the name of the event was changed several years later to more reflect the feeling of the AIB event at BMOFA. Blooming Art, 2023 was the twenty-second year of the 'Blooming Art' event!
Stay tuned for what's on deck for next year...2024 is the 100th Anniversary of the MV Garden Club! Stay tuned via our website or sign on to our news, Facebook or Insta to stay up to date on the 100th Year happenings!
