We need you to make Blooming Art 2022 a success...
Flowers, Friendship and Fun!
Welcome to Blooming Art 2022. We would like to extend a warm invitation to you to join our Floral Design Team this year. And if you do, we promise it will provide you with flowers, friendship, and fun with your fellow Garden Club members!
Our iconic event will take place from June 17th to 19th this year with our Opening Night Reception on June 16th. It showcases island artists, flowers, and the Old Mill. Beauty and history combine at Blooming Art each year.
It takes a village to hold this event. My name is Jayne Isford, and I am delighted to be chairing the Floral Design Component of Blooming Art this year with Trudy Williams. As in past years, our signature event will match the artwork of local artists with the floral arrangements of our talented garden club members. Trudy and I are so pleased to showcase the beautiful work of our floral designers and fellow garden club members this year.
We encourage and invite you to join our team. Whether you have experience doing a floral design and arrangement or are completely new to this, we welcome you. Some club members prefer to work on their own, others prefer to work as duos. We also have experienced club members who will mentor and partner with those of you who would like some training and support to do a floral design.
The following are some of the information sessions that we will be providing to assist you. We want to give you all the support that you need to feel comfortable with your work. And we also want this to be a fun experience for you as you work with and meet new friends and fellow members.
Floral Demonstration Workshop:
Club members Nancy Cabot and Judy Bryant will offer a Floral Demonstration workshop on May 31 at 1:00pm at the Wakeman Center to provide ideas and suggestions for our designers. Click here for more info
Floral Design Program:
Fawn Hurwitz is doing a Floral Design workshop as part of the Garden Club’s 2022 Programs on May 24th at 1:00pm. This will provide you with hands on experience for your design as Fawn guides you through her process of creating an interpretive arrangement from a piece of art. Click here for more info
Boston Museum of Fine Arts Blooming Art Virtual Tour:
In mid-April, we will participate by zoom with the Boston MFA and tour their Art show. This will provide an up-close look at both their art and floral designs this year. The one-hour tour will have commentary by an Art expert and Floral expert with a Q and A at the end of the session.
Please come join us! We have a seat waiting for you at the Floral Design Table.
