An Edgartown Garden Stroll and Summertime Fundraiser
for the MV Garden Club
Stroll five 'private' Edgartown gardens and one historic in-town botanic garden! (On-line sales ended August 7; scroll down for day-of ticket purchase info) The Martha's Vineyard Garden Club's Summertime fundraiser showcases five private Edgartown gardens, and one public botanic garden located in the midst of Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard. The Edgartown Garden Stroll is self-guided, so 'Stroll' at your own pace and take in the beauty and history that is Edgartown. Edgartown was once a major whaling port, with historic houses that have been carefully and impeccably preserved...enjoy your time here! Here's a peek into a few of the gardens you will enjoy along the 'Stroll'.
Garden Stroll description:
Five private Edgartown gardens will be 'open' for the Stroll along with one public botanic garden. The gardens collectively are traditional, quaint, historic and eclectic. The private gardens along the route are not handicapped accessible and pets and carriages will not be allowed. The 'Edgartown Garden Stroll' will take place on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 10am - 3pm, rain or shine. The gardens are in fairly close proximity to each other and we estimate the Stroll between gardens taking 2.5 - 3 hours at a leisurely pace. Before beginning the Stroll, those who have pre-purchased admission must check in at the Gate House of The Cooke House and Legacy Garden, 51 School Street to pick up their program guide and map for the Stroll, and start the Stroll at whichever garden they choose. Check-in will begin at 9:30am and will go throughout the day. Admission for groups will be held under the name of the purchaser. On-line advance sales ended at noon on August 7. Admission may be purchased on the day of the Stroll for $60.00 per person. Day-Of Admission purchase will be taken only at the Gate House of The Cooke House and Legacy Garden from 9:30am - 2:00pm on August 10, the day of the Stroll.
A sincere thank you to our Sponsors for their support!
Additional Information:
Your program ticket serves as your admission into each garden. Private garden addresses, garden descriptions and a map are part of the program ticket. Docents will be on hand as guides at each of the private gardens. In most cases, the homeowner will be present for a time to answer questions. The Stroll is self guided and will take place rain or shine, so go at your own pace and in any order you like. All admissions are non-refundable. Children who cannot be carried require a ticket, pets are not permitted. Neither the Martha's Vineyard Garden Club nor any homeowner opening their garden on the Stroll is responsible for damage, property loss, or injury sustained during the Stroll. No admittance to the private gardens will be allowed after 3pm. This Fundraiser will support the Charitable Initiatives of the Martha's Vineyard Garden Club. We thank you very much for your support! |
