Virtual Presentations, Garden Tours & Gardening Websites

Here is some 'Spring Gardening Inspiration' and a fantastic YouTube Presentation by The Heirloom Gardener, John Forti!   Click Here to view it!

Have you seen the show 'floret' on the Magnolia network?
If not, try to catch it...
Erin and Chris Benzakein have spent the last fifteen years building their family-run business Floret from the ground up in the fertile Skagit River Valley of Washington State. Now considered one of the most well-known flower farms in the world, they are embarking on a new endeavor—rehabilitating a new 24-acre farm in order to expand their growing ground and create a living laboratory.
Watch their journey and the transformation of the farm in the Emmy-nominated four-part documentary series Growing Floret on the Magnolia Network

A fabulous opportunity to take a cut-flower garden mini-course virtually!
Here are a few more of their online courses from 'floret'.

What is GardenFit: The Story of How an Open Days Garden Host Created a Hit PBS Series that’s Getting America Fit

Join long-time Open Days Garden Host Madeline Hooper and her co-creator and co-host Jeff Hughes for the story behind a new hit PBS series, GardenFit, that aims to inspire viewers to take care of their bodies while taking care of their gardens. Hooper and Hughes will narrate their journey from conception through development of the series, turning a personal experience of physical pain and horticultural passion into a TV adventure that saw them visit and explore more than a dozen distinctive private gardens and specialty farms all over America, helping gardeners overcome their seemingly inevitable aches and pains. All of Hooper and Hughes’ GardenFit fixes apply to every gardener, affecting how they move and maintain their body health in every aspect of their life, ensuring that their body be the best garden tool they have!  For more info, GO HERE

This year’s theme is “Gardening for Change,” and there are four acclaimed speakers lined up to talk about how to rethink garden beauty, right-size your garden to suit your lifestyle, help save the planet through regenerative gardening, and integrate science and art to create diverse landscapes. The date is Saturday, September 10, 8:00 AM-3:45 PM at Bentley University, Waltham. Non-MGs are welcome, too, and can register on our public website at https://www.massmastergardeners.org/symposium

Gardening Websites:

Jackie Hokanson says:
"I just discovered the PBS show, Growing a Greener World, today even though it’s in its 12th season. The website is https://www.growingagreenerworld.com.  You can watch 26 minute episodes from all the seasons. I have a daughter who is a teacher in Brooklyn and I completely enjoyed their Emmy winning Episode “The Green Bronx Machine”.  There is much helpful and practical gardening information - it reminds me of Britain’s Gardening World but in the United States."
