March 16, 2020 Monthly Meeting

THE MARCH MEETING was via Zoom.
The program began at 1pm.

PROGRAM:  Partnerships: How the West Tisbury School's Garden Got its Pergola
with
Tim Connelly, Program Manager, Island Grown Schools

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
At the start of the 2018-2019 school year, the Martha’s Vineyard Garden Club awarded its first Linda M. Chapman Innovation Grant to a project proposed by the West Tisbury School and Island Grown Schools – to build a pergola next to the school garden that would support the growth of grapevines and serve as a shaded outdoor classroom space for garden activities. Tim Connelly will provide us with information about the Island Grown Schools program with specific emphasis on the new pergola built with the funds received from our club.

ABOUT TIM:
Tim Connelly is the Program Manager of Island Grown Schools, a garden-based educational program that delivers food, nutrition, and garden education to Martha’s Vineyard school children from pre-K through 12th grade.
