About Katie Ruppel

Katie has been working with the school garden program at Island Grown Initiative for 5 years. During that time, she attended a seed saving training with Native seeds/SEARCH and there began her love for seed saving! She has focused much of her school programming around seeds – life cycles, pollination, crop diversity, breeding and the general abundance seeds bring to the garden. Katie has presented at the Massachusetts Farm to School Conference and at the New England Seeding Sovereignty conference and has been involved with the MV Community Seed Library since day one.
